Members of the 5th Naivaadhoo Council and 2nd Women’s Development Committee Sworn In

The inauguration ceremony for the newly elected members of the 5th term of the HDh. Naivaadhoo Council and the 2nd term of the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) has been held.

The ceremony took place at 9:00 AM on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Naivaadhoo Pre-school. The oath of office for the council members was administered by Hawwa Ibrahim, Magistrate of the HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Magistrate Court.

During the ceremony, Mohamed Naufal officially assumed office as the President of the 5th term of the Naivaadhoo Council. Joining the council as members are Ahmed Afަaq and Saleema Mohamed Waheed.

In addition, members elected to the 2nd term of the Women’s Development Committee signed their official declarations. This includes Fazeena Abdul Ghaffar, who serves as the President of the committee, alongside members Muneera Ahmed and Fatimath Haanee.

The ceremony was broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Naivaadhoo Council. The event was attended by the heads of various institutions on the island, as well as the outgoing members of the 4th term Council and the Women’s Development Committee.

This significant ceremony officially marked the commencement of duties for the new team tasked with the island’s development over the coming term. The newly elected Council and Women’s Development Committee members expressed their commitment to prioritizing the progress of the island and the well-being of its citizens.
